The Annual Planned Giving Conference at Kanuga
The North Carolina and South Carolina Planned Giving Councils invite you to attend the annual planned giving conference to be held on May 1-2, 2012 at the Kanuga Conference Center, Hendersonville NC.
Goals of the Conference:This conference is a quality continuing education opportunity for development professionals to expand their planned giving knowledge, learn new skills they can apply in their organizations, and network with peers and industry leaders to share ideas, information and solutions.
Registration is open for the Annual Planned Giving Conference at Kanuga on May 1 and 2, 2012.The North Carolina and South Carolina Planned Giving Councils offer this two day meeting which will cover a broad array of gift planning techniques and concepts.To provide incentive to early registration, we are offering to NCPGC members a $50 scholarship for the first 30 members to register.This "early bird special" will not last long, so register soon!
Held at the beautiful Kanuga Conference Center in the mountains near Hendersonville, NC, this conference will feature nationally known and local speakers and the opportunity to make friends with development professionals from around the region.Kanuga is a wonderfully relaxing environment where participants can dress casually and become absorbed in the experience of sharpening planned giving skills.Participants will find that this is a very affordable and effective way to attend a conference focused on planned giving.
On Tuesday, May 1st the conference opens at 10:00 am with beginner and advanced sessions on planned giving with members of the NC State University and University of Virginia gift planning teams.
Keynote Anne T. Melvin, Deputy Director Of Gift Planning, Harvard University will present "Mission Possible: Getting in the Door And Getting What You Came For".Following the keynote breakout sessions are offered until 5:00 pm.
On Wednesday, breakout sessions begin at 9:00 am and Tom Lawson, Bank of America and David Routh, US Trust will wrap up the conference with a dynamic closing session: "How Can Professional Advisors and Development Staff Work Together to Increase Philanthropic Giving?
The eight breakout sessions will be ideal for planned giving professionals who have years of experience as well as sessions for those who are just starting in their gift planning careers.Another benefit of attending is the ability to meet other planned giving professionals.The dining arrangement is "family seating" with large tables and lots of opportunity to talk.At the end of the first day a very nice reception is planned overlooking the lake, followed by dinner and additional socializing opportunities that can last into the evening.
